Rock Excavation
Due to the geological conditions in Southwest Florida, it is frequent to have to perform rock excavation when working on raw land. This requires different techniques from the ones commonly used for excavation work. Examples of the techniques we use for rock excavation include blasting, trenching, ripping and hammering.
In order to understand which excavation technique to use, we evaluate the area, the soil type and composition, and the project. Blasting is used frequently, due to the fact that it is more cost effective. However, local regulations and proximity to other buildings might require for other techniques. All this has to be taken into account when deciding how to excavate an area, plus fracturing of the rock, its strength and weathering. Tomahawk Construction knows how to process the rock formations in your land in order to make sure everything goes according to plan.
